  1. Just want a branch syncing window for the Mac version that looks and behaves exactly like the Windows version. Very annoying to not understand how much data is travelling and at what speeds.

  2. The issue currently seems to be that triggers are "global" in nature. What we need is a simple way to trigger scripts based upon the repository or branch (ala Subversion hooks style). Simply putting a "trigger.conf" file in the repo would be good enough.

Currently it's rather difficult to do something simple like trigger a specific job on Jenkins by committing to a repo, this is needed when you have 30 different projects with separate repositories all in progress at one time (and polling sucks).

  3. It will be useful to have possibility to shelve changes made in "main" repository even if some of files which are changed are located in repository connected by read only xlink. Now shelve is treated in the same way as checkin and it is not allowed to do such operation

  7. It would be wonderful to have a feature where you can specify inside Plastic when a branch is ready to be merged and the task is done!

I'm trying to use the Task Per Branch and it's kind of annoying ask the others about the status of a task or a group of tasks.

Something like "change the branch's background color" to set it as a ended task.

You could expand this idea and integrate your own Task Management System. :)

  8. I'm a huge fan of not moving my hand to the mouse whenever possible and I check-in quite often so this could be a huge productivity gain with a simple fix.

  9. What do you think about adding an extra column to the pending changes view, to display file version? When we merge a branch into the main one, we always start the check-in comment with the exe/dll file version. We do that to be able to find historic revisions of our projects based on file version.

And if it isn't too time consuming to implement, such column would also be useful in the file history view.

  11. When uninstalling/upgrading Plastic, it seems it sometimes silently fails to remove the Visual Studio plugin. This leads to an error message during installation, saying that the vsixinstaller.exe command line finished with an error. In fact, this error you get from vsixinstaller can be simply that the plugin is already installed in all clients (which you can discover by running the same command line interactively from cmd). It would be nice if this "non-fatal" error is detected and reported as such, instead of reporting a generic error message...

  12. In the global config (special repo: plastic-global-config) one can put a "<repo>/workspacetree/" sub-directory for keeping the following files:

    • ignore.conf
    • cloaked.conf
    • hidden_changes.conf
    • writable.conf / readonly.conf
    • filetypes.conf
    • semanticexcluded.conf (suggested?)

This idea could be extended to normal repos! Being able to put all these .conf-files under a "workspacetree" directory in the repository (or local workspace) root would reduce the clutter and make it easier to locate these config-files.

NOTE - The semanticexcluded.conf file does not currently work in these scenarios, but there is another uservoice suggesting that it should: https://plasticscm.uservoice.com/forums/15467-general/suggestions/13439505-make-semanticexcluded-conf-file-work-from-wkspace
