preview changes for changesets

When selecting a changeset, I'd like to have a preview area where the changeset's details are shown (at least which files have been changed). Currently, I have to double click a specific changeset in order to see the details.
Think of an email client like Outlook, where you can read the mail by selecting it in your list of mails without opening the mail in an extra window.

This is a duplicate of https://plasticscm.uservoice.com/forums/15467-general/suggestions/5722236-list-changed-files-in-branch-explorer-properties which was entered before.

Please add your votes to the original one :-)

    Related to https://plasticscm.uservoice.com/forums/15467-general/suggestions/15615156-show-diffs-in-branch-explorer-and-changesets-views

Another idea regarding this request is the use case of selecting several changesets. In that case the inline diff window should accumulate all the changes from those changesets

The idea was to always see what files have been changed/moved/deleted in a changeset. In addition, a "Show diffs" button (like in pending view) could add another section at the bottom.

The suggestion was related to the Changesets view. However, it might apply to other views as well.

Unclear if the original suggestion is for the Changesets view or the Branch Explorer (or both).

Marco, yes, basically - but we would need a left sidebar in the inline Diff for displaying the list of changed items (similar to the "Explore changesets on this branch" window). There is already a sidebar in the inline Diff when in Semantic mode, but that is used for another purpose...

Personally I think both the Changesets view and the Branch Explorer could have this kind of inline Diff (with sidebar). It would be more consistent with the other views and the same toolbar toggle-button "Show/Hide diffs" could then be present in all these views.

(The 2D Revision Tree view is based on the Branch Explorer and actually has an inline Diff for single files, but that option is on by default and slightly hidden under "Version tree" in the "Options" sidebar on the right.)

This can be done the same way as "Show diffs" under "Pending changes".

Yes, this is a good idea indeed. We're reworking most of the GUI so you'll see this eventually (hopefully soon).
