Display a notification in the main GUI when a newer build of Plastic is published
In the main Plastic GUI, display a notification if the installed version is older than the latest build available for download. Check periodically while GUI is running. For us early adopters... ;)
Duplicated of http://plasticscm.uservoice.com/forums/15467-general/suggestions/2718483-add-auto-update-check.
Let’s keep the older and original one :)

We could certainly do that...
I don't expect to plan this soon, though. Not because it is not interesting, it definitely is, but because we've to choose and spend our development power wisely, and we have a ton of higher prio, higher impact things to do.
Let's see if other customers vote for this too :)
Thanks.

To clarify my last comment: for different upgrade paths, you could notify only about new versions on the same major-version that the installed client has?

I don't think twitter is enough. I want to be notified inside the tool as many other tools have it.
For different upgrade paths you could notify only about new upgrades on that specific upgrade path!
Thanks,

Thanks Göran!
We notify new builds on Twitter, @plasticscm.
The problem doing it in the tool itself is that in many companies with hundreds of developers they follow a different upgrade path, so it can be confusing for them :(
I think using Twitter for this will be good enough, don't you think so?
Thanks!
