    jOpenDocument (http://www.jopendocument.org) is a pure Java library for OASIS Open Document files manipulation, but the web site only mentions concatenating, not merging, ODF files.

    However, ODF files are just zipped XML file collections, so text diff and merge should be possible on the individual XML files in the compressed file.
