  1. We find the current comment box to be a little confusing.

Our of our guys didn't event realize it was a text box!

I think this interface (from a popular git client) is a lot clearer and encourages the user to write a good and descriptive comment.

  2. Click on "Branches".
Add a new attribute to a branch.
    Switch to the Branch Explorer.
There is no "Attributes" tab. :(

  3. It would be handy to have a toolbar with all the Plastic views/commands inside of Visual Studio, similar to the "Source Control - Team Foundation". Likely this would have the same buttons as the View -> Plastic SCM menu, but could include other shortcuts.

The View -> Plastic SCM menu is a bit obscure and hard to find.

  4. Hi,

I would like to be able to get the mapping of repositories on the databse (or tables) without opering the repositories.plastic.sdf database.

This database however only contains the still present repositories.

I found no way (yet) to detemine where the workspace name of a delete repository database.

  6. At present it will use whatever the OS default is, it would be nice to be able to custimize this within Plastic, e.g. a simple table of file extension versus application (don't forget to allow for files with no extension, e.g. INSTALL, README, etc). This would make life easier fot instances where no defaul is even set (e.g. my Linux VM), and also cases where by default I want to edit files in Plastic but run them in my OS (e.g. script files).

It has been finished this week! And it will integrated in the build 268 on Tuesday, and we will make it public next week.

  8. If we create a new branch and switch to it then the branch appears as empty and the little house icon is not moved to the new branch.

if we make a merger from another branch then the merge is done to the previous branch.

  9. Jira is one of the most popular issue/task tracking software. Jira 4.2 is supported right now, but version 4.4 (released 2 August, 2011) is not yet supported.

  13. When I am working distributed I am often without connection to our issue tracker. This means that I have to use a temporary naming scheme for new branches. When I later sync with the main repository I may not have created the issues in the tracker yet. When I do, I have to rename all branches in all replications which is easily forgotten, thus leaving the different replications with differently named branches.

Obviously this is a mess, so it would be really nice, if Plastic synchronized branch name changes. If there is a rename conflict, I would be fine if…

  15. Currently, no triggers are fired if changesets are replicated to a repository, including after-checkin.

Behavior would be similar to git's post-receive hook, or hg's incoming hook.

We already do that announcing all new releases every week

  17. Currently I use StarTeam revision control but evaluate PlasticScm. The first thing I noticed is that it is not possible to hide files marked with Private/Ignored and Controlled/Hidden changed in the Items view.
I don't want to see temp, exe-files etc here.
