  1. Jenkins PlasticSCM update to support SCM environment variables

PlasticSCM jenkins plugin doesn't support environment variable related to SCM changes like

    CHANGE_ID
    CHANGE_AUTHOR

Would be nice if it could do so :)

    • Jenkins PlasticSCM Plugin update to support pipelines

We are using PlasticSCM because we have large amounts of binary data which Git can not handle. This prevents us from using the Git clients which support Jenkiins Pipeline.

Please update the PlasticSCM plugin to support Jenkins Pipelines.

      • Make Diff a default action in File History (table and graph)

I found myself many times to mistakenly open a revision of a file instead of showing a diff, when clicking on a changeset in a History or a History Graph of a file (not in a history of a directory or the overall history = Changesets / Branch Explorer). I think it would be more consistent to open always diffs by default.

        • Allow client triggers to be run from a workspace

Say you put them in a "triggers" folder, you would simply register them using a parameter, e.g

          cm mktr before-clientcheckin "bob" "$workspace\triggers\checkin.py"

The $workspace would be substitued by whichever workspace caused the trigger to fire. The only exception to this would be "before-mkworkspace", since the trigger would be inaccessible.

          • TeamCity plugin: support agent-side VCS checkout mode

Currently, the Plastic plugin for TeamCity (Continuous Integration) only supports server-side checkout mode.

This means the workspace resides on the server and after updating the workspace its contents are copied to the build agent(s). Thus, the agent does not have a complete workspace, only a copy, which means that Plastic commands can not be run in this copy on the agent.

More specifically, it is not possible to ask questions about the current changeset or workspace status on the agent. (Our build process assumes that the build is done inside a Plastic workspace.)

Could you please considere supporting the TeamCity…

            • Restore the previous/next item keyboard shortcut in branch diff and code review

Could you please bring back the previous/next item keyboard shortcuts that used to be available in branch diff and code review? They existed in Plastic SCM 5.4.16.663 (Yaguate), but they are no longer available in later releases. It is no longer that easy to move between files listed in the top pane.

Now that they are unavailable, there is too much clicking. We can no longer perform code reviews as efficiently as we used to. It really matters when you perform many of them on a daily basis.

Thank you in advance. We will be grateful.

              • show assembly version in diff of assemblies

In rare cases we do check-in dll and exe files. These are thrid-party libs in most of these cases.

The diff view shows only 'Changeset', 'Size', 'Created by' and 'Date modified' for these binary files.

It would be nice if the assembly version would be also displayed.
This will help compare the binary files and descide with one to check-in or keep while merging.

                • jira bind multiple projects and servers to a single repository

We have two JIRA servers. One for development and one for QA. We would benefit from being able to bind multiple JIRA servers and projects to a single repository.

                  • Keyboard Shortcuts

All buttons and labels should have an ALT shortcut key. For example On checkin dialog, you have to press "Checkin" button using "Mouse" or pressing "Tab" several times. But we should be able to do that for example by pressing "ALT + C" button.

Note: I know we have shortcuts for example to open the "Checkin" dialog, but I mean shortcuts for buttons and labels to prevent of using Mouse or pressing Tab.

                      • Simple diffs in a merge tool

When I try to solve a more complex merge I often want to see a diff between an ancestor and a source or between a source and a destination. I know that the merge tool theoretically shows all those diffs at once, but it is not so legible. It would be nice to hide one of the file temporarily and see clean diff between the remaining two only. Or at least open those simple diffs from a context menu in a merge tool, as I can from an "items to merge" list.

                          • Highlighting of a new line in diffs

I think it will be more consistent to highlight (with a darker color) all added characters, even on lines which are all new. See the picture:
                            http://s15.postimg.org/uln6ryq17/diff.png
Otherwise it is more difficult to distinguish what was really changed. Especially for longer lines.

                                Hi everyone!

We’re really happy to announce that our TeamCity plugin now has feature branches support since release 5.4.16.783 (https://www.plasticscm.com/download/releasenotes/5.4.16.783). We encourage you to download the new plugin version and install it in your TeamCity servers to take advantage of this new feature.

There are some things you should keep in mind before the upgrade:

                                • Existing projects configured with Plastic SCM VCS roots will need to be reconfigured.
                                • There’s an issue involving the diff of moved + changed files due to limitations on TeamCity API, pending to be adressed.
                                • Server-side workspaces are no longer needed, so you’ll be able to safely remove them.

                                Thank you for your feedback!

                              • Long path support on Windows

Fix the 260 character file name length limitation on windows,

                                • Merge Tool should have keyboard shortcuts/accelerators

As used in SemanticMerge the build in Text Merge tool does not have keyboard shortcuts. This makes it frustrating when you can use hotkeys for SemanticMerge but not for the external tool provided with SemanticMerge.

In the current version of PlasticSCM, the merge tool has the following shortcuts:

                                    • Select/Unselect source: Ctrl+1
                                    • Select/Unselect base: Ctrl+2
                                    • Select/Unselect destination: Ctrl+3
                                    • First conflict: Ctrl + Shift + -
                                    • First conflict: Ctrl + -
                                    • Next conflict: Ctrl + +
                                    • Last conflict: Ctrl + Shift + +
                                    • Previous non-automatic conflict: Ctrl+PageUp
                                    • Next non-automatic conflict: Ctrl+PageDown
                                  • Jenkins selector text should support build parameters

The Plastic SCM Jenkins plugin currently does not process build parameters for the selector text.

If this was supported, one application of this is would be to parametrize a Jenkins build such that a branch can be selected as a parameter.

                                    • Support for UE4 (Unreal Engine 4) source control

UE4 Editor has source control built into it's editor similar to Unity. It would be great to be able to connect to Plastic since it's so useful for game development. It looks like a fairly straightforward plugin system (but a ways beyond my ability at the moment)

                                        • Preserve changeset comment when closing pending tab or the app

When you close the pending tab you lose the comments. This can be done by accident or when you close the app.

It would be great if the comments were preserve rather than lost.
