  1. I can't search for 3 character words such as Mac or OSX! This makes search useless for some things and its not like there would be a million hits to return. It might be nice to remove that limitation (or drop it to 2 characters)...

  2. Using the client GUI, I can browse items in a changset (that I did not switch to; not in my workspace), but I would like to annotate a file in this view as well.
Currently, I'm forced to switch to this changset and then run annotate.

  3. In spite of this idea is similar to http://plasticscm.uservoice.com/forums/15467-general/suggestions/2982727-add-ssl-wildcard-certificate-support but all the same I've decided write it in separate topic.

I've tried to use sertificate with SAN (Subject Alternative Name) extention and was failed with one. The main subject of my certificate, for example, is www.domain.tld (i.e. CN=www.domain.tld) but there is also record for SAN like this:
    X509v3 Subject Alternative Name:
    DNS:www.domain.tld, DNS:domain.tld

So this certificate validates two domains and as I know such type of certificates is widely used (of cause, often by small teams J) so it would be good to support it.

  6. The checkin progress dialog just says 'In progess...' with a spinner before 'confirming checkin' starts (eg. when checking dependencies). It would nice if the progress covered all parts of the process since for ~7000 files nothing changes for ~15mins. The subsequent stages where there is a progress bar seem to be much faster (<1min).

  7. When you leave the checkin comment box empty and try to commit your changes, a question box appears asking you if you really want to continue. At that point you can either click "Yes" or "No". But there is a third option: closing the window using the "X" in its right top corner (or pressing the Alt + F4 key combination, for instance). When you do that, something unexpected happens: the checkin operation is continued instead of being cancelled.

IMHO it should be impossible to close the window by other means than clicking the Yes or No buttons. Or, if…

  8. During heavy-duty work on a set of objects, it would be nice to have a button in Pending changes which will Checkin all Pending and automatically re-Checkout the same objects. This will speed up development. Sometimes many disparate objects are being updated and if they reside in different folders, doing interim checkins (for safety's sake) requires going through the folders and checking out those objects one at a time. It would just be better to be able to checkin several objects and have them checked out, again, automatically.

  9. It would be nice to be able to create a code review via the command line interface. This would allow us to use the after-checkin trigger to create and assign a code review, automatically.

I did research this, so if this functionality already exists, I apologize.

  10. When using the Dark theme in Visual Studio, the background for the Branch Explorer is black (or dark grey). This makes it very difficult to see and trace all of the merge links. Please rework the background for the plug in to either force the Branch Explorer to use the standard white background, or use lighter, brighter versions of the colors for the merge links, to make them more readable.

  14. I'm tired of hearing how great v4 is and not being able to migrate to it. This really needs to be your highest priority right now if you care about existing customers (hint: you should).

  15. This option should be available in the "Pending Changes" window. This would allow you to remove files from your pending changes list that haven't been modified. This allows you to better see which files you actually modified and is a very "popular" feature of Perforce.

  16. Would be nice if we could right click in DBrEx and then Replication -> Fast Import / Fast Export this repository.

Then, a window should be shown and we fill the others arguments available in CLI.

    What do you think? :)

  17. We have started to use writable xlinks in most projects. To replicate a project we create sync views that contains targets for all xlinked projects.
However, I cannot find a way to synchronize a whole view. I have to refresh each target, right click and synchronize, wait until synchronizing finish, repeat for all targets.

Preferably syncing multiple repositories would be a one-click affair, but the current procedure is tedious and easily error prone.

The common scenario for me is this: I make a few changes on my laptop while commuting. At work I sync the laptop with the main repository…

  20. The issue is described in http://www.plasticscm.net/index.php?/topic/1083-performance-of-pending-changes-in-a-very-large-workspace

"Show private items" option slows down the "pending check-ins" too much. In Visual Studio, it should be very easy to show besides the check-out items, to check if there are new items in the solution, and only display those, instead of analyzing all private items in the workspace. This probably should speed up things a lot.

Alternatively make the "pending check-ins" windows non-modal, as described http://plasticscm.uservoice.com/forums/15467-general/suggestions/2675742-vs2010-plugin-add-ability-to-click-on-item-in-pen
