  1. We use Source Tree today and would love to switch over to using gmaster full time. Having giflow built in would make that easier

    See:

Keep up the great work on the tool!

  2. Problem:
Sometimes you checkin changes that aren't necessarily corelated. Well, yes they belong to the same fix, but you could easily revert one change without the other.
When people don't have the habbit to checkin every now and then, they need to checkin when they're done. Most of the time, this checkin contains more than one change.

In the unexpected event of a new bug, that was checkedin with these changes, it's hard to revert that one change that's causing the issue.

    Suggested solution:
This problem could be solved if there was a way to split existing changesets into new…

  3. Every time I have to change my LDAP password on a windows machine (where the server is configured for AD working mode) - I have to download/configure a new work space, even though I already have several work spaces available from the configured server.

This could probably be achieved with adding a new column to the pastic.workspaces file:

    // Known Plastic SCM workspaces
    // id name path server
    e1a3445e-68fe-4a80-a2cf-5f61dcf657c1 TwoFactorAuth c:\PlasProjects_WORK\TwoFactorAuth <myserver:port>

Baring that, it would be much better if the configuration would "stick" when the only change to the configuration is the password used to connect.

    Optionally, just allow…

  4. It would be nice if there would be a hotkey for going to the home changeset in the branch explorer.

We use this feature very often and after the button was removed from the top bar, it would now be easyer to this with a hotkey instead of the "floating" menu in the branch explorer.

  6. I am aware of PLASTICREVIEWCOMMENT and PLASTICREVIEWCOMMENT_ACTION events which seem handy for people who self-host. For us cloud-based folks, though, I don't believe there is any ability to even set up webhooks against these events.

Right now all my devops scripts for tracking code review (mostly to publish changes to our team's discord) make use of 'cm find review ...'. However, I can't figure out any way to access the actual comments associated with a review so the only useful changes I can track are changes in status and assignee.

Could you please add a feature…

  7. Searching in Visual Studio allows me to set multiple search terms separated by a space in order to better narrow my results. This is helpful if you aren't sure if the name of the file is "ProjectXMLData" or "ProjectDataXML", but you know for sure it has Project and XML in the name.

    Attached Images
    - VSSearch01 - Shows searching for all 'project'
    - VSSearch02 - Shows adding 'xml', but not as an exact match. The results are still displayed as expected
    - WSSearch01 - Shows searching for 'project' and results show as expected

  8. For security purposes, it would be nice to be able to have extra security when logging in or to verify who has access to the repository. Something similar to what Bitbucket or Github Implement would be nice.

  10. I don't understand why a changeset can't be deleted if I have a shelve.
In my case it wouldn't have created any conflict.

  12. Whenever you try to delete a repository, workspace, an attribute etc., you have to confirm that operation. But the confimation message box does not tell you what you are actually deleting. At that point I always click "No" to abort the operation, make sure I really selected an appropriate item and then attempt deletion once again.

It would be better if that kind of messages named the object being deleted. The infomation like "Deleting 1 object(s)" causes a risk of deleting something else than the user really expects.

  14. in the branch explorer, have the ability to specify a replication source, instead of having to pull a branch from a source before it showing up in the list.
This way it would be easy to add all the local developer repos as replication sources to a new team members BrEx in a distributed scenario, without having to pull something from every local developer repo.

  15. To avoid mistakenly adding multiple xlink targets to the same source when creating sync views and to make sync view creation to repos with xlinks easier I suggest that the sync view editor should be "target" centric, not "source" centric:

I click add new sync view.
Instead of clicking add new source as I am supposed to now, I click "add new target".
I choose the target on a target server.
Plastic detects that I already have a repo with the same name on my source server (or use some other similarity measure as I have suggested above) and ask…

  16. It'd be a cool idea to create a github service hook and an accompanying issue tracking extension for Plastic to read issues from there. I don't know Ruby but I could help out with the Issue Tracking extension in plastic!

  17. It would be really handy to be abble to manage groups of tabs like in some "projects groups".
It would allow on left navigation panel to create/select "groups" and it would display a set of tabs (like last openned in this group).

We are managing tens of projects and have often several repo for each. At this time we're only abble to see first character of each tab name and have to scroll most of the time.

At least several rows of tabs would be a first step of improvement :)

  18. If you search for a changeset and it is not found, nothing happens. There could be several reasons:
    1) the changeset does not exist
    2) it is hidden due to 'display only relevant changesets'
    3) it is a recent addition and you need to refresh the view first

It would be helpful if a dialog was shown with the reason, with perhaps an option to do either 2) or 3) and then find it.

  19. Currently label captions are light gray and are hard to read. It would be great if there was an ability to change their color to more contrast one, or add customizable back color like branch captions

  20. Some languages, like Visual Basic 6, are case insensitive. An option to ignore case sensitivity would remove some of the false positives the Diff Viewer reports because of case differences.
