You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Jira integration should be able to transition issues through Jira workflow and maintain all data

Jira integration should be able to transition an issue once it is checked in to PlasticSCM with a tag like [FIXED], and then this will move the issue in Jira to the 'Ready for QA' column in the workflow. It should maintain in the information who committed the change, the changeset, any details available.

    • Advanced LDAP Support

Plastic currently only supports basic LDAP integration.

In real-world scenarios, things aren't as clear cut and simple.
I propose extending LDAP support in the following ways:

      1. Support secure LDAP (LDAPs). Including self-signed certificates on the LDAPs server.
      2. Ability to specify Root DN.
      3. Ability to specify User search Base.
      4. Ability to specify User search filter (ie, something like sAMAccountName={0}).
      5. Ability to Specify Group Search Base.
      6. Ability to Specify Group Search Filter ((& (cn={0}) (objectclass=group) ))
      7. Group Membership definitions (can optimize with memberOf property).
      8. Configurable Local Caching of credentials, TTL etc ....

      • Please make all release notes findable on your website

Many times I find that the most complete, or the ONLY, documentation on some features in Plastic SCM can be found in the release notes. (Example: the "multi-screen diff" feature is mentioned but nowhere explained.)

Additionally, on forums and uservoices etc a specific release note may be mentioned for reference.

Unfortunately, it seems that many of the in-between release notes disappear from the web after a while, or at least they are very hard to find.

With all this in mind, please make it easy to find every Plastic SCM release note ever issued! ;)

        • Add Gluon support for Linux

Our entire team are going Linux only for development since Epic now support it with Unreal 4, so support for Gluon on Linux would be wonderful for us.

          • Add ways to disable Diff auto-updating on changeset

The new "multi-screen diff" in Plastic 6.0 is excellent. It was introduced in 6.0.16.884; if you have the Plastic SCM main window open on part of your screen, and open one diff window on another part of your screen, then the diff window's contents will change when you move around in the Branch Explorer.

            (Slightly related uservoice: https://plasticscm.uservoice.com/forums/15467-general/suggestions/15615156-show-diffs-in-branch-explorer-and-changesets-views )

However, this has a few flaws related to cases where you don't want the "Diff changeset" window to change. To stop the Diff from updating when you click a changeset, you need more than one Diff window open. This is OK…

            • "Cherry pick" to

Just like the "advanced merge to", allow the user to cherry pick to any branch.

This allow the user to avoid switching to the branch he want to cherry pick to, which can be very time consuming (reimporting workspace in a game engine for exemple).

              • Collapse all/open all tree-views with Alt-click

The tree view in Pending Changes gives a much better overview/visual structure to the things that were modified. However, per default everything is always collapsed. So for each new change one needs to click-open every single hierarchy level by hand, to reach the assets that were actually changed...

All other tree views (Items, Branches, ...) are affected similarly, and would greatly benefit from such a hotkey.

I suggest to use Alt-click, as for example, Unity uses that same method to selectively and recursively collapse/open subtrees.

                • Make all Branch Explorer colors customizable

In Branch Explorer, the alternating date-background color can be changed via a variable in a .conf file, but none of the other color schemes.

There is also the Themes feature in Preferences, but those seem to leave the Branch Explorer unaltered (even leaving it light for the dark themes)!

What we do have is the ability to color branches by attribute (conditional format) and to color changesets by user/replication-source. (But sadly, the color by replication source feature is currently broken.)

My request is to expose all the border, fill, background, selection and font colors to the user, either via .conf…

                  • Add a branch weight for layouting in branch explorer

I like to have my branches ordered bottom-up as they are closest to release. So my issue branches are below the trunk which is below release candidates and hotfix branches.

I do this manually right now. So I have two lines für release/hotfix branches then the trunk and then everything else.
This is fine as long as there are only 2 branches in the upper two lines. But sometimes there are more (especially when 'older' branches are updated with new data. Then they overlap.

                    My suggestion:
Add a weight property to branches (maybe via conditional rules) and order the branches…

                    • Integrate with Wrike project management tool

Want to be able to select a wrike task from within the Plastic SCM to link a task to.

Would also be handy to automatically create wrike tasks when a code review is created and for it to assign the the user.

                      • SCM Extension for Microsoft's Visual Studio Code

With v1.11.0 they've just publicly released the SCM API (https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/extensionAPI/api-scm), so it'd be greate to have Plastic integrated in this wonderful editor.

                        • Refresh pending changes before check-in 'option' and prompt if new changes available

Sometimes I forget to refresh when I submit my check-in so I end up making two changesets with the same comment.

I'd like the check-in to either prompt me and tell me it's a partial check-in since I don't have everything select

                          or

it does a refresh before I check-in and prompts me if there are added, modified,or deleted files newly listed in the pending changes window and if i'd like to proceed with current check-in.

                          • Drag and drop files into workspace

You can currently drag and drop files from your pending changes into a folder which is really handy when you've really stuffed up and can't shelve your changes (like deleting a changeset that you have currently selected).

But it also be nice to drag and drop files into the workspace so I can utilise the awesome search feature and replace the files I just stuffed up in the above example.

                              • Improve "Cherry pick from changeset interval" range

The "Cherry pick from changeset interval" is a bit confusing to me.

                                For example:
I want to cherry pick from changesets cs10 to cs15.
So, I intuitively select cs10 and cs15 and do a cherry pick interval merge. But then, I notice, that there is no cs10 involved. The merge begins at cs11 and not cs10.
So, when I want cs10 included, I have to select cs9. But that is very unintuitive to me.

It get's even worse, when I click on the merge arrow afterwards and it shows me "Changeset interval (9 - 15)".
                                That's wrong, because there is…

                                • Show unchanged lines only for context in the text diff view

We have some multi-metabyte files with many thousands of lines and sometimes a few lines change and it is hard to scroll or click move around with such a large file. The buttons "to to next/previous change" are useful, but it is a lot more messy to actually see the diff.

See the attached file for a comparison with Araxis merge for an example.

In Araxis, we can see more information on the same screen.

                                  • remove "from version control"

Pending changes view DELETE menu, add option to "remove files from version control"

IN Workspace explorer/files, Delete has two options, "delete files on disk" and "remove file(s) from version control".
In Pending changes view, Delete will only delete on disk. However this is IMHO the more likely place you would discover files that are controlled but should be excluded!

                                    • Line wrap (word/character) in embedded diff view

This is a very useful feature for diffs with long lines.

Now that we have matching inside a line, this would be a natural follow up. With this, there would no longer be any need for horizontal scrollbars in diff view.

                                      • improve the image diff tool to include a threshold for pixel values

It would be nice to improve the image diff tool so that small differences in pixels can be ignored with a threshold values. For example for JPEG images that just have a small difference in compression artifacts.

Maybe something like this could be implemented?https://github.com/mapbox/pixelmatch

                                        • request for cm diff command option to be able to see path info for xlinks

We need to be able to do a diff on a repository on a server (without workspaces) and then get the OLD version of a file through any xlink.

                                          cm diff OLD NEW

You don’t get the path on the remote repository from a diff on current repository.

If I do a cm diff in the first repository, There is NO path information through the xlink. And ALL the information is related to the NEW changeset.

So you can not do a simple diff using the FIRST repository’s information:

                                          $ cm ls '/one/two/My link with spaces/bird/file1.txt' --tree='24@00000000_99_TEST_REPO_3a@myhost:8087' --format="{revid}"

                                          Can't resolve…
