  1. We'd like to be able to set a default branch without setting up triggers.

The main purpose would be to have all users default to a specific branch, so that inexperienced users don't have to manually select it. We realized this can be done through an after-mkworkspace trigger, but this would not solve the other issue (below).

For our use case, we do not have any files in /main so when looking at the repositories, it says the repository is empty which is not accurate. /main is empty, however we have other branches with data. This could be confusing for…

  2. Currently when we check files for selection for a Checkin in Pending Changes, if we restart PlasticSCM the selection is reset to every changed files + added files.
This is misleading and often result in having unwanted files in the next Checkin.
Is it possible to keep the user selection even after closing PlasticSCM?

  3. We have had multiple issues of users doing a Checkin believing that the files they changed were in the latest state written on disk, but actually Plastic seems to store its own version of the file in the state that it was at the last Refresh.
Could it be possible to use the value of files written on disk when performing the Checkin? Or at least provide an option to do so?

Currently we have to use the context menu.

  6. I know that this has been declined before. And I know there are workarounds using attributes and filters and whatnot to hide branches.

However, we'd really like to have a solution that does not require a PhD in version control and someone to study plastic for multiple hours every time this is needed for a project.

I'm aware of visibility mode in the branch view. But for us it's mostly an issue in lists of branches - when merging to a branch, and in branch view, etc.

And it should be easily toggleable to view / not-view hidden branches, in…

  7. When you try to switch changeset, PlasticSCM App says "you can't do that because there are uncommited changes" almost everytime.
I just want "Undo them and proceed" button on that dialog window because 90% of these uncommited changes are worthless to me.

  8. Plastic changed the default font for code views recently. Changing the font in the font selection menu isn't persistent and gets reset on restart.

  9. There's currently no way (at least that I could figure out) of using an "advanced" search.

You can easily search by user by typing the user name and adding "@" at the end.
You can search by comment by just typing free text.

However there's no way to combine the two.

Past a certain team size and number of changesets, it makes searching really hard to use.

    I would expect:
    * "user@" to find all changes by "user"
    * "feature" to find all changes containing "feature" in their comment
    * "user@ feature" to find all the changes by "user" that…

  10. When you add a user to repository, their permissions all default to Allowed.

This is troublesome when adding freelance and outside workforce to projects.

Alternatively add sensible presets (artist, programmer, admin) that are easy to apply.

  11. I used to work with Azure Devops and what I miss the most is being able to preview a merge (or to create a draft of a merge).

The idea behind this is that you see the actual changes when a branch would be merged. I have two reasons for this request:

    1. Currently with plastic you cant exactly see what the code will look like after a merge. When you currently do a code review, you don't know what the code will look after all conflicts are resolved.

    2. When a (feature) branch exists for a longer time, it's common to…

  12. Please, can you make the diff section of the Pending Changes view optional ?

I'm constantly dragging the window in a futile attempt to hide it, but then it will reset back to fully open. Please make it optional. I don't use it, and neither the rest of the team.

  17. Hi Plastic.
I got this fatal bug when i accidentally pressed close tab when there are merging in progress > after that this happen when i tried to checkin (fail.png)

I can't resume the merge progress because i can't restore that window.
I tried to re-merge that interval changeset as same as before, but cant do anything. It says there are pending changes bla bla bla.
So i need to undo all and do the merge again.

    so please....
    1. Prevent Merge Window from closing when there are merging in progress
    2. A way to resume / reopen previous merge

  19. When looking at the list of Incoming Changes, it would be very efficient to be able to just double-click an incoming file to see its Diff.

Currently you have to Right Click and select "Diff the incoming change".
