  1. Be able to get a list of one changeset so you can copy/paste in any other document. Right now you click on a changeset and a new Diff window appears with all the mofidied files listed.
It should be really easy send that list to the clipboard so we can use it in other needed documents (excel, doc, etc).
I'm doing this by hand (writing one by one all the involved files in a changeset) and it's a nightmare!!!!!

  2. It would be really helpful to have a shortcut bound to the Undo command, like Ctrl+Z for example, or a customizable one.

  3. I used to work with Azure Devops and what I miss the most is being able to preview a merge (or to create a draft of a merge).

The idea behind this is that you see the actual changes when a branch would be merged. I have two reasons for this request:

    1. Currently with plastic you cant exactly see what the code will look like after a merge. When you currently do a code review, you don't know what the code will look after all conflicts are resolved.

    2. When a (feature) branch exists for a longer time, it's common to…

  4. Please change client to remember the path to the client.conf that was used to start the gui. This will fix some problems that are caused by starting with one client.conf, but then then tool using only the default located client.conf when running the gui.

It is possible to start the gui and specify an alternative client.conf. This feature has been there as long as I can remember. It is a great feature for admin and also nice for teams that share a PC login (our use case is PCs used on Lab/Bench test setups). You do this by starting gui…

  5. In the legacy UI I can go into Preferences and in the General section I can change the user/password I'm using for Plastic. The new UI lacks this ability so when my organization forces a password change I have to go to the legacy UI to update my password. We have the AD enabled and it works but Plastic doesn't keep synced with password changes.

  6. In the new UI for Plastic non-cloud client I would like to have the Branch Explorer be the default view. It is more useful to me to see the branches and what is going on with my team than the workspace view. And when I switch workspaces I would like to see the default remain Branch Explorer.

  9. Hello.

Currently if I want to zoom out to see more than a day or 2 of changes in the branch explorer, the text becomes so small it's completely unreadable.

I propose that the text for branch name / description, and date headers at the top, should remain the same size (or at least get capped at a minimum size) when zooming out, so that it is still readable.

There is plenty of space to fit the full sized text.

  10. As part of their education, marketing students learn how to create marketing case studies in order to create effective case studies that will help them enhance sales of their products and services.
Most of the time, students are given the option of choosing a writing topic, which might be challenging. Students may get a Marketing Case Study in UK from SourceEssay, where a team of professionals can help them choose an engaging, relevant, and attention-getting topic for their case study.
They could also be able to seek help writing case studies from these specialists.
They provide students with ideas and…

  14. Quite simple, sync with server button which completely wipes out any local changes and restores a workspace to whatever changeset that you are on.

We have to implement batch files to clean up things on the client side which get generated when we switch around from branch to branch, and it would be nice to have a button in the GUI alongside update workspace, that says sync to the server.

  15. We need to update this, and potentially the Jenkins plugin at the same time.

Any SCM is part of a stack in a production environment, usually tied to automation if that is set up and we need to bring plastic scm out of the dark ages and towards functionality that other scm providers have.

Alternative triggers would be a good start. For example attribute changes on a branch could trigger specific builds, a label change could trigger a build.

It allows you to parameterize the attribute/label information inside the automation suite and then you can use that as a parameter…

  16. What's the chance that Unity will remove the letters SCM from Plastic SCM, just to make it sound a more friendly product? No one knows what SCM means anyway...

  17. I dare you to upload image.PNG to a new idea.
Now rename it to image.png and upload it, you'll find that it only works in lowercase?

Not really a big deal, but apparently the windows 10 snipping tool really loves uppercase letters on extensions, so that ends up being the default experience using this tool when trying to make a quick screengrab.

  18. Right now if you switch it to view EOL changes it will just highlight the entire line Red, which isn't very obvious that all I did was switch the line endings. I think the diff window should have the line ending type shown in plain text. It can be subtle like dark text next to the changeset description.
A decent reference for this is the tool "Beyond Compare" which shows the type of line endings towards the top

  19. All Windows and Mac applications have a standard "File", "View", "Help" etc. menu. The current left-hand menu is fine, but "Preferences" and "About" should be removed and moved to a new standard menu.

  20. Viewing comments in the history panel is pretty painful.
-It's not possible to view an entire comment for the history of a Folder
-Double clicking on a history entry for a folder makes the program not know what to open (should this open in explorer or a diff tool?)
-Double clicking should ALWAYS "Diff Changeset". This is likely more common then opening up a temp file with that particular revision.
-Long comments should have tooltips with the Entire comment (really all panels should have this feature)
