  1. If I have a tga file selected in Gluon, I just see the windows file icon for it instead of a preview of the image. Other file types, such as png show a preview of the image when selected.

Targa is a common file format used for video game textures

  2. If everything goes well, and my push of changes to the cloud server doens't have any issues, the "Replication synchronization" window should close itself. It's annoying to have to click "Close" every time I push

  3. Currently the "Search files" query on the "Explore workspace" tab treats queries with multiple words separated by a space as if they were one element.

So a search for (without quotes) "wall normal" would not find
    SteelWallNormal.png nor
    shortwall
    normal.png
    etc.
but it currently would find things like
    SteelWall Normal.png or
    shortwall normal.png

I suggest treating words separated by spaces as multiple elements that must all exist in the filename, which would result in returning all of the examples above.

  4. Currently, "out of date" is only displayed at the file level in the "Explore workspace" tab. This presupposes that you know what files are out of date, as viewing the root or any of the folders in between the root and the out of date file will look the same as if there was nothing out of date in them.

To be able to track what files are out of date in a workspace, it would be nice to see the out of date indicator all the way down.

    Ex.

    root (out of date)
    Content (out of date)
    __
    Images…

  5. It would be great to be able to get the custom Open With functionality from Plastic GUI over to Gluon. The ability to be able to define custom 'Open With' targets would be indispensable for our work.

For example, Autodesk Maya's versions are frustratingly difficult to configure with Windows 10 (only one option appears in the Default Apps settings), and this configures ALL Maya files to open with that one version.
We require the ability to be flexible and open files with different versions of Maya for different projects (based on when that project kicked off, therefore maintaining project compatibility).…

can we have those undone files that get overridden sent to the recycle bin

  9. When renaming a repository, workspaces created from this repository break. It would be handy if they would automatically retarget to the new name.
Additionally, renaming a repository will also break with trigger filters, it would also be handy if they would automatically retarget :)

  10. Firstly, we use the Jira integration in plastic so I only have experience in this area. I assume the same concepts apply to other trackers but I can only speak from my experience with Jira

Recently, we moved from using a number of xlinked repositories to using a MonoRepo in Plastic. It's no surprise that plastic already has good support for the MonoRepo approach.

One area we have found that is lagging a little behind is the issue tracker integration though.

Currently, the relationship for the Jira integration in plastic assumes a mapping of 1 to 1 for a repository…

  12. Add localization support to Plastic SCM / Documentation for Japanese, Chinese and Korean.

If possible, also translate your website into the above mentioned languages.

Game dev companies in Asia use Perforce. If you translate your product and site, they may see a reason to switch.

  14. After marking multiple files and choosing Undo, the warning message only states that "You are going to undo X changes". This helps catch issues of undoing significantly more or less files than you intended, but doesn't help if a single critical file was accidentally included in the list of files to undo.

I'd suggest listing the full path of all of the files that are going to be affected by the undo command on that warning message.

  15. I almost always use multiple line comments on my submissions, and so do several other people in my studio. I usually mouse over the changeset in the "Changesets" tab to see the full comment, but the current display duration for the full comment overlay is often too short to read the entire comment.

I'd suggest the duration be increased significantly or that as long as the cursor remains over the changeset it be displayed indefinitely.

  16. This has been fixed in standard Plastic, but Gluon still does not support mouse wheel scrolling while hovering over the comment box in the "Checkin changes" tab, with or without the cursor being in that box

  17. Way back when I still used TortoiseSVN, I really enjoyed the fact that it's commit comment textbox would suggest types and filenames when committing new changes. See the attached image for an example.

The simplest implementation would be for the client to check the pending changes, compile a list of the filepaths and filenames, and then determine if the current typed word would match one of these list entries. If a word partially matches one of the entries, show a dropdown of these entries to let the user choose or dismiss the entries.

Just to elaborate, this is not an…

  18. Currently we were unable to move many of our repo to plastic because they all uses LFS.
We could, by copying files from git "workspace" directly into the checkout workspace, overwrite those pointer files, do a checkin and get thoses files info plastic's repo.
But that will break many of our parterner's workflow, since they still uses git, and we obviously can't force them all to use plastic.

  19. Currently local changes to comments and or labels do not register as changes, and thus are unable to be synced outside of the initial commenting or labeling.

There have been many times I required a developer to add more details to their initial comments, and or had to fix a bad label, and had to change it in multiple places rather than in just one followed by telling everyone to sync.

I feel this is a very worth while feature to include; as that meta-data is what effectively describes a change-set and right now any changes to those items requires…

  20. On merge arrows, we can click and get a tooltip of info (changeset and branch of source and destination, respectively). We can also right-click and choose commands "Go to source/destination changeset".

I suggest making the "cross-branch changeset links" (branch base/parent & child relation lines) clickable in the same manner.

You could display the following tooltip info:

    • base/parent changeset number,
    • base/parent branch name,
    • child branch name

Also, you could provide the following right-click commands:

    • Go to branch base / Go to parent changeset,
    • Go to child branch

The first command would be much more intuitive than first locating and selecting the…
